Shantiniketan Diaries (2020 blog)

Chhatimtala

Chhatimtala:

The place where the great Poet Rabindranath Tagore, used to take classes with the students of Viswa Bharati. In those days, classes used to be held under the shade of Chhatim trees. The entry to the inside of the premise is restricted in order to safeguard the structure. The famous red soil and the lush greenery of the place makes it a sigh to behold. Once here, you are bound to be transported to the era gone by. There is a meditation center -- Upasana Griha where you can meditate in peace.
